How to play bass guitar - learning should be fun, enjoyable, and free of charge. This website and the lessons it contains have been provided to arm bassists with the necessary knowledge to excel at playing the bass guitar and all the while improving the already known aspects of the bass guitar bass players may already know. I know it can be expensive for bass lessons from professional teachers and awkwardness they can bring, even online websites charge for their services. With this website this isn’t the case. I have provided this website for those who want to learn on their own and who do not wish to pay if they do not feel the need to, why pay for something you can learn yourself for free. With this website people are able to learn at their own pace, all it takes to excel at bass playing is time, effort and dedication, if you are willing to provide these then this site will do the rest. I will have a range of bass lessons up on the site ranging from the bass basics to the more advanced techniques. When the site is fully complete it will contain all the information for bass players to reach a high level of playing. All lessons can be located on the left hand of the page, they are all categorized to their relevant topic, just pick the bass lesson you wish to read and go from there. Some lessons are categorised on other pages e.g., bass exercises. No matter what your playing ability is on bass guitar just have a look around the site and I am sure you will find something of interest. Eventually I will have a range of bass tools that people will be able to use free of charge and also a page for downloads so people can download content that is available. A competition page will be added at a later date. Competitions will then be held every week or month depending on the prize. Beginner Unlike most websites this website contains all the very basics on how to get started playing the bass, so if you have just started playing the bass then this is the site to use. For beginners I would suggest starting from the very beginning and read all the sections on bass basics as it covers everything needed to start on the right path at becoming a great bassist, and a better musician. The lessons are in order of relevance, if you are unsure where to start I would suggest reading from the very beginning. Advanced For those who have been playing a while I suggest you learn a new technique e.g., slap bass, or learn some theory, as to become a great bassist it is essential that a great amount in theory is learnt, from arpeggios and scales, to the circle of fifths. New lessons will be wrote regularly and updates will be performed as the site is far from complete and as of yet is still under construction. Pay regular visits to my website to see if anything has been updated, changed or a new section has been made, see the updates page for any updates that have been made. Bookmarking my site will come in very hand for people who wish to follow this site all the way through or people who wish to see when new sections have been made. Updates - Use the updates page located at the top of the page for any new or updated lesson on my website. Donations – Lessons on this site are free of charge, but if anyone feels that the lessons provided were of any use then please show you consideration and donate a small fee using the donation buttons located on the right hand side of each page. Links - It would be really appreciated if people could help spread the word of this site as not many people know of it and this is off putting for writing new lessons, pasting my Url on your site or blog etc would really help. Input – Peoples input about my site is very important to me, I need to know how to improve this website for everyone and to make it to the standards it can be but I can only do this if people get in contact with me. To get in contact with me fill the forum out on the contact page. I hope people will use this site regularly and also respect the information provided, oh and the final thing to remember is to have fun and enjoy learning. Thank you, ©2008-2008 Howtoplaybass.
